Doug Lukasik has developed a diverse practice in the fields of construction and commercial litigation, at both the trial and appellate level. Mr. Lukasik currently handles the defense of lawsuits filed against homebuilders, commercial builders, and real estate developers on a wide array of issues, including personal injury, construction defect, and real property disputes. He has additionally handled commercial litigation of all types on behalf of major lending institutions, healthcare companies, cable television providers and defense contractors. Mr. Lukasik also represents individual Plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Lukasik possesses extensive experience in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate level, throughout Texas.

Representative Matters:

Mr. Lukasik has handled hundreds of cases throughout the State of Texas with sole responsibility for all aspects of litigation from pre-suit through trial and appeal. He has been first or second chair in multiple jury and bench trials and arbitration hearings, and has served as lead counsel on a number of appeals.

His representative matters include:

  • Mr. Lukasik represents a number of large regional and national homebuilders in all aspects of their operations, from drafting contracts to handling litigation of all types. He has obtained a substantial number of favorable verdicts and settlements on their behalf in courts around the state.
  • Mr. Lukasik represents developers of subdivided ranch properties across all aspects of their sales and land disputes.
  • Mr. Lukasik represents a substantial developer of resort properties in connection with a dispute involving in excess of 1,000 lot owners in litigation that has spanned the trial and appellate levels in several counties across Texas. Mr. Lukasik recently obtained a favorable appellate result in a central aspect of the litigation.
  • Mr. Lukasik represents a large investor in low income housing projects in matters relating to construction defects, partnership disputes and development issues. He has been lead counsel in obtaining a favorable settlement of the longstanding claims against his clients.
  • Mr. Lukasik represents an automobile lender in its multi-million dollar dispute with a used car dealership.
  • Mr. Lukasik represents a massive developer in connection with several multi-million dollar disputes regarding an out-of-state hotel project.
  • Mr. Lukasik has successfully obtained multiple summary judgments in connection with personal injury claims against homebuilders and property owners.
  • Mr. Lukasik assisted with the successful representation of an investor in a lighting company against the previous owners for breach of a non-competition agreement and breach of fiduciary duties pursuant to the purchase agreement.
